rags57 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Hello,Hope someone can help. After downloading and running MP10setup I end up with a message with a heading of "Cannot Complete Windows Media 10 Setup". It also says "It is not possible to complete Setup. Windows Media Player was not installed. To update windows, run Windows Media Player Setup again."When I run it again I end up with the same message. Does anyone have any ideas. The message is a WMP message not a normal XP error message.I am using XP SP1 on a Pentium 4 2.5Thanks for any helpRayTitle edited -- Please, use [TAGS] in your topic's title.Follow new rules--Sonic

firefoxthebomb Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 try to uninstall the older version of WMP by going add/remove application and REINSTALL WMP10 again<{POST_SNAPBACK}>If this does not work, I would update to SP2 and then install wmp10.
wjramsey Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I'm just posting this for posterity as I had the same problem and it took me weeks to figure it out. At least for my specific instance the answer was to download the drmclien.dll file from dll-files and copy it into the \windows\system directory. Once I did that all of the problems cleared up and everything installed fine.
gunsmokingman Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Download the whole WMP10 then Extract that to a folder of your choice then run setup_wm.exe in the folder you extracted the download to.
