no welcome screen appears

Featured Replies

Hi

Just installed xp pro sp2. Everything works OK except it is logging on as the built in administrator account with no welcome screen appearing. I have created another administrator account and 2 user accounts. I have also created a password for the built in administrator account and have switched on fast user switching and the welcome screen but still no welcome screen. When I logoff the admin account however I do get the ability to logon as one of the other accounts, so puzzled as to why it is still logging as admin without asking for user id and password.

Please reply anyone can help as there will be several people using this computer and I do not want all of them to have admin privileges.

Thanks

make sure you are not using the autologon feature in a tweaking program like the one in XP Powertoys for example.

Change your settings so you do not automatically logon to windows, should solve both problems. Should be a checkbox.

At the "Run" box type in "control userpasswords2".

Then check the box that says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".
