no, i didnt remove IE with NLite, i installed windows from an unattended cd i made a little while ago, and yes there is an "open with" option in the context menu but it does the same thing.....

Personally I think the problems is with your windows installation not WPI if you tried a new download and can't even get the open with menu to open I think your windows is messed up.

Other people use WPI on Win2k and there have been no reported probs.

Do you have mshta.exe in system32 folder?

yea its there, and it could be my windows installation, i dont really wanna reinstall windows although i could try it using my newly built XP Pro SP2 slipstream i built with N-Lite. its wierd, i remember having it work like once and that was about it, i dbl clicked the hta before i knew what i was doing, and it displayed the app like it should, then i read all the documentation on it then tried it out and this crap happens... also is there a way to disable that stupid thing that pops up when you execute the HTA?

i knew you were gonna say that  i was gonna explain it but then i was thinkin "ehh, he'll probably know what im talkin about" the "stupid thing" is the box that pops up asking if u want to execute or save the HTA, its really annoying

odd...very odd.... i might reinstall windows with my new UA disc once i work out the final bugs in the sourcecode of start.bat and see if WPI works then if it doesnt idk wtf ill do, possibly go back to using the old version of Xplode that i have, which takes soo much longer cuz i have to write everything in XML...

i just reinstalled windows with my new UA cd i created using N-Lite its xp pro SP2 and i have just added new ram cuz the old stuff wasnt compatible and it still wont run! i can open up the 2 htmls in the common directory and thats it! if i try to execute one of the java scripts it gives me this :

script:<location>\wpi\common\main.js

line:1

char:1

error:synax error

code:800a03ea

sour microsoft JScript compilation error

i have JRE 1.5 installed and Net 1.1 any idea at all why this wont run? also now it doesnt give me that security warning in IE it just doesnt do anything! if this matters at all heres the full path to my wpi folder

d:\unattended\n-lite\xpcustom\$oem$\$1\install\wpi

id really like to get this working but i guess my batch file will suffice....
