Mouse right click has been disabled suddenly, I do not why? Is there any setting I have to do it to reanble right click again?

The problem that the right click only disabled when I try to click on the desktop area (My Computer icon, My Network place icon, Recycle Bin, Internet Explorer,,,,,etc) but I have got no problem if I open any web site.

I tired 3 mice, the same problem occured, and as you know if the problem with the driver, it should be with one mouse only, not with three mice.

I am administrator, and I logged as administrator

Do you have any special moue software installed?
No, I have not installed any mouse's software.
Have you tried rebooting after deleting your mouse driver and it's hidden driver to ret it?

I have not tried to delete (uninstall) the software, I just replaced the mouse with another and tried to check right click.

And I have not reboot the PC in all cases

1. Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

2. Find the DWORD value NoViewContextMenu

3. If it doesn't exist, create it through the edit menu->new->DWORD

4. By setting this value to 1, the right click is turned off.

5. Allowing right clicks can be reset by setting this value to the default of 0.

If you'd use google...you'd probably find most of your anwsers.

Thanks jroc and jrz for your help and advice.

The problem has been solved by the advice from JohnnyReb51 (Thanks for him), his adivec (similar to jroc's advice) was :

Sounds like a Registry policies restriction.

I have just created a Registry file to remove it.

Go to the link below and download the norightclick1.reg file to your desktop, double click on the reg file and confirm the Merge twice.

Close all open programs, etc and restart the PC.

Your right click Context menu should be back.

This link is only valid for about 1 week.

jroc could you please look to these registry values from PC (the one with problem), and from my laptop (no problem), both of them have got win2003 server OSs

For Desktop

Name Type Data

ClassicShell REG_DWARD 0x00000000(0)

ForceActiveDesktopOn REG_DWARD 0x00000000(1)

NoActiveDesktop REG_DWARD 0x00000000(0)

NoActiveTypeAutoRun REG_DWARD 0x00000095(149)

For laptop

Name Type Data

Default REG_SZ (value not set)

NoDriveTypeAutoRun REG_DWORD 0x00000095(149)

Why does not the laptop have this value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

2. Find the DWORD value NoViewContextMenu

and still the mouse is working without any problem?
