Whiz_z Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 hello, sorry for my urgent post and my english too, its not my native so i hope you will understand me Yesterday, i have bought a new MSI 915 G combo mobo, celeron D 2,5 Ghz and a corsair memory. Everything was OK, but if I boot from CD and want to install WIN XP pro sp1 , after a few moments i have blue screen of death. Code is:STOP 0x0000007B (= INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE )What i have tried:-flash the newest bios-install the newest RAID and ATAPI drivers during XP instalů (F6 when install starts)-replace the memory module to another bank-change the corsair memory module to mushkin memory from my second PC-check all cables-change HDD for another-experiments with BIOS settings which i found on a few forums where people have the same problem. Some of them solved the problem with replacing memory, or turn off the onboard LAN on Audio and others. But i cannot, still the same problem I have HDD on primary master, jumper is on a MASTER, CDrom on secondary master (but this board has only one serious IDE controller, and the second and third are RAID i think)You can read, that i have tryed a lot of, i can solve it that i can do my warranty, but i affraid, that the shop send me a new MSI 915g board and i will have the same problem because of on a MSI forums many people has it.Thanks for any help a lot!
boooggy Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 try to slipstream sp2 into your xp cd. and second choice i see is to change your mobo....
tarquel Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Ok... first off make sure you are using a "proper" original, unmodified Windows XP CD.Are you sure you are using the correct settings in the BIOS & with the physical cables?Quote from the product on the MSI site:On-Board IDE / SATA • Dual Ultra DMA 66/100 IDE controllers integrated in ICH6. - Supports PIO, Bus Master operation modes. - Can connect up to two Ultra ATA drives.• Serial ATA/150 controller integrated in ICH6. - Up to 150MB/sec transfer speeds. - Can connect up to four Serial ATA devices.IDE RAID • VIA6410 IDE RAID Controller - Two Ultra DMA 66/100/133 IDE Controllers. - Supports RAID 0, 1 and 0+1. - Connect up to 4 Ultra ATA 133 devices. It would be better to use a SATA hard drive, but such is life lolummmm........Try using the HD on the primary/first IDE socket (they're green as I remember) and have the CD-ROM on the normal IDE socket, as the CD-ROM drive shouldn't be on the IDE RAID controllers at all (which seems to be the case from what I got from your post). As odd as this may seem, you should find it will work better.Let us know either way if it works or doesn't.Regards,N.
Whiz_z Posted May 4, 2005 Author Posted May 4, 2005 Thanks for your reply, sadly i have IDE HDD. I have switched HDD and CDrom as you said, but nothing new
systeman Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I remember that in the Bios of some old mainboard, there will be a configuration like "Enable/Disable...Virus...", if you enable this, your system installation will be terminated.Hope this info can be helpful.
