jpatto
Anyone know how to reset the secure connection between a domain controller and a Workstation? I read the article at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=216393and it brought back errors. Could someone give me a brief example of how the syntax is run. This is what ive tried:netdom reset 'workstation' /domain:'MyDomain'This returns - Network path not foundnetdom reset workstation /domain:MyDomainTarget name account is incorrect (notice the ' is/are missing)So im not 100% what the correct way would be. valter
Can't you just take that WS out of the domain and then join it again?
jpatto
Yes ive tried that and for some strange reason it doesnt join. Checking the event log gave me event ID 3210 (i think) which tells me to reset the secure connection.
valter
If you're right about event id, then check this http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid...ETLOGON&phase=
jpatto
Thanks ive tried all the suggestions listed on the above link but either theyre pointed towards NT or resetting the secure connection. Ive removed the workstation from the domain and will try to see if it will join later (incase a miracle happens ) so any more suggestions?
tguy
When you removed the computer from your domain did you remove the computer account from AD? If not, try that. All else fails, rebuild workstation from scratch.
jpatto
The only place ive removed the computer from is "computers" found in Active Directory Users and Computers - is that what you mean?
tarquel
....after detaching it from the domain you mean? You could also try this little tool also:http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/newsid.shtmlI'm sure others here have used it or a similar tool - haven't needed it yet.Regards,N.
