after trying to replace some missing files found it better to reformat hard drive and do a clean install however now getting the message disk I/O error replace the disk and then press any key this boot up disk worked earlier but not now how can i make a new boot up disk or where can i download one so i can boot up hard drive then reformat it thanx in advance

Go to bink.nu, they have every bootdisk in the world, if your computer supports it you should use El Torrito bootable CD. As this configures the CD driver as well.
