Just wondering if anyone recommended a decent eBay auction notifier... preferably, the more slimmed down the better. The last thing I need is another browser toolbar.

Biet-O-Zilla

It is a Biet-O-Matic remake as a simple Firefox/Mozilla extension.

Integrated with the browser, it allows to track and manage easily your items and make last minute bids.

    * Import items from MyEbay

    * Last minute, Bid now and Buy now

    * Currencies rates from European Central Bank

    * Context menu in browser in item page or item link, which allows to add in B-O-Z or add in B-O-Z & MyEbay.

    * Selectable current and default bidding site

    * Multiple accounts

    * Table of items with contextual menu and tooltip with item informations

    * On-line help

check this freeware out (good for Firefox and Internet Explorer):

MOOBay makes MooBar & MOOSell

Why I Created MOOBar

    There are many people who believe that the eBay Toolbar is actually 'Spyware' andSpybot S&D (a respected *free* Ad/Spyware detector) recommends removing it!

    It certainly seems that it passes your searches through both Mediaplex and Doubleclick (Internet tracking and advertising companies) servers - along with what could be a 'unique ID' which could be used to track your activities online.

    It's not just the '1984/being tracked' thing which bothered me tho - I found the Toolbar "clunky" to use when all I wanted was an easy way to 'power search' eBay and keep track of the most useful links (including a few eBay don't really "shout about") - and so I've created it!!

    In the process I've found a few features of the eBay Search which even eBay don't make-use-of - the main one being the ability to search Auctions ONLY (e.g. exclude Buy-It-Nows from results!).

    I've also included the most useful Links I can find related to eBay - but I'm always open to more of course...

    Anyway - I hope you all find it useful - please don't forget to leave your ideas/feedback/comments or raise problems in the Forum...

[edit] i emailed the author with some suggestions for new features :)
