April 18, 200521 yr I have the following structure:$OEM$$OEM$\$1$OEM$\$1\install$OEM$\$1\drivers$OEM$\$$$OEM$\$$\system32$OEM$\$ProgsEverything get copied fine to the system except for the $Progs directory. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
April 18, 200521 yr Hi,In my case it is even worse, nothing from the $OEM$ dir gets copied to %systemdrive%Hope someone has an idea.Greetz Aldero
April 18, 200521 yr @alderoYou need to have the following line in your winnt.sif file:[Unattended] OemPreinstall=Yes@hossmDo you use windows 2000?In windows 2000 either $docs or $Progs didn't work (I can't remember which on )
April 18, 200521 yr Author Yes, I am using Win 2000. I'm actually using RIS (on Win 2000 Server) and the image is Win 2000 as well. I used FileMon on the server and saw that the setup actually does look at the folder in the $Progs directory, and reads each file but then deletes them and doesn't copy them over. Everything else, it reads and copies over!
April 18, 200521 yr Windows 2000 doesn't support either $Prog and $Docs are they tied to OOBE for copying over.
April 18, 200521 yr Author Thanks for the info Alanoll! Now when you say Win 2000 doesn't support either one, do you mean if I had RIS running on Win 2003, then it would be supported? Or is it the image (Win 2000) that doesn't support it?
April 18, 200521 yr RIS basically runs the Setup of the OS wanting to be installed correct? It's the setup of the OS that determines what is copied. Windows 2000 doesn't support this.
April 19, 200521 yr i use WinXP i have OemPreinstall=yes and still it doesn't copy anything...any suggestions ?thx for not answering i found out myself so i will remember the mistake better
