Outlook Express Help

Featured Replies

Hi, I need help with OE.

When I send messages with attachments, it stays in Outbox. I get warning window, but error field is empty. And what is strange, that messages reach recepient. What might be wrong?

Thanks

Not sure if this works on outgoing also,

but give it a try.

In OutlookExpress, go to the text headers, Tools / Options , then to the Security Tab - Remove the check thats in the box for 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened ...

The following registry entry will remove that check also for unattended users.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\mail]
"Secure Safe Attachments"=dword:00000001
"Safe Attachments"=dword:00000000

It was already unchecked

It was working for few letters, then it started again.

Plz, explain me more about this "unattended users". Might it be that there is some virus or trojan, that does al this thing? But I have Kaspersky with all updates, I scaned this computer, but it found nothing. And another thing, this computer connects through lan, so all computers might be infected, but they work fine.

And this might help:

About month ago, All inbox was gone on this computer, although file inbox.dbx had like 1G. So I repaired it with tool. And after that it started. I even tryed to delete all msg for last 2 month from inbox and send, but it doesnt help :(

another strange thing - this is happening with attachments only when new mail is created. When mail with attachment is replied, everything goes ok. Any ideas now? thanks.

what's the chance you have zonealarm running with the email protection on?

what about any spam filtering plugins for outlook express?

who knows, sometimes windows just goes tits up, and you need to re-install

There is no email spam protection or what soever. I already reinstalled windows, but it didnt help.

Any more ideas?

have you talked to your ISP?

even tho some ISP tech support is awful, sometimes they can help

maybe it's an issue on their end?

Are you connecting to the internet via Router, if so check it's MTU setting and make sure it's set at 1492, i know this seems ridiculous but it does make a difference, i have seen it so many times..

Hope that helps..

I doubt it. I have 60 PC on my network and they all work fine exept this one.

Im using Linux server as a router...

I think this might be some bad letter that corrupts all OE, but then I had to delete all inbox and send items for 2 years. ****.:no::no:

my reason for saying to contact the ISP is you said you reinstalled windows already, and that didn't help

that should mean it's not a local computer problem

especially since all the other machines do work properly

try putting another email account in outlook express, and see if that account can send attachments properly.

if so, it's definetly an ISP problem
