i just got informed by the hotmail staff that i can now access my hotmail email account from outlook again,

guess what of course by paying!

As a thank-you for your loyalty to MSN, we'd like to offer you a 25% discount off the regular price of a year's subscription to Outlook Live. Sign up by April 19, 2005, and you can enjoy all your first year's benefits for just $44.95 instead of $59.95*.

wow not paying that to get pop access nope never.

u can get pop access + 2gb storage with yahoo...

Or you can get POP + 2GB (and rising) with GMail... for free.

Stupid MSN...I use my hotmail acct for crap signup sheets... It's probably got so much pr0n in there...

Exactly!

Hotmail makes its 250 MB look like great shakes, soooo idiotic.

What Gmail gives for free, is supposedly "premium" !

Any guesses on how many ppl are moving away from hotmail every minute? I for one, won't bet against a prediction that if hotmail stays the way it is, then Gmail is going to race it to the top.

Why? that account might be filled-up long ago, and mails bouncing from it with "too full" messages.....

I like how "loyalty = pay me" with Microsoft. :P

And I'm surprised actually...... many ppl still report that they can access hotmail (free account) from Outlook Express. Either they did this long ago, or they're just lying about something of the past. AFAIK, its not possible unless you pay up now.

But 2gb on yahoo?

Please re-confirm.... mine says - "250.0MB"

And yahoo does not allow POP either.

the Outlook Live program is really an experiment by Microsoft to see how it can convert its existing user base over to a subscription model. As long as GMail is schooling them, only ignorant users will 'buy' this.

They will probably offer this service on the new xbox (Longhorn/PC version), and i wont be surprised if alot of people make this their "first pc". Im not really happy about that btw, although it is specualtion.

i can still access my hotmail thru outlook. the instant it stops, im going to move straight to gmail only

i can still access my hotmail thru outlook.
You mean Outlook Express......

@prathapml

i meant u can get pop access and 2gb with yahoo while paying less ($14.95 i believe it was). i am using it, after the billing cycly i won't pay again since i switched to gmail and my own host...

so if u pay yahoo it allows pop! I'm using it. and 1 year ago or 2 it allowed free pop access.

some ppl here in turkey can access through outlook express but they don't have 250mb storage for some reason. I believe its bc hotmail.com.tr recently opened and giving 250mb to those..

i never liked the oe http server access to hotmail, always have been too slow for me, only got a hotmail for passport purposes and got it bc of msn b4 i knew that i could use any email...

i am requesting a patch to remove the hotmail option from outlook & oe :P
