Ctwizzy
So im testing that my apps are installed properly after the uA has ran its course. These I cant tell:- Virtual Desktop Manager- Visual Basic 6 RuntimeI cant see them in the add/remove, or anywhere else. What I need to know is if they are supposed to be in the Add/Remove.the VDM I think should be, or I should be able to see it installed so I can use it. So this needs testing again. But the VB6 Runtime I dont know. Thanks!
dman
vb runtime does not have interface or add/remove, it's just dll's.
Ctwizzy
anyway of checking the dlls are on my pc?where are they and what are they called.
dman
msvbvm60.dll in system32should be file version 6.0.97.82 in properties/versionif you want to test if vb works (not the version) run this checker. if it runs, vb6 is installed correctly. else you will get missing runtime error.vb6test.zip

dman
You should have vbrun60sp6.exehttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=envbrun60sp5 is already included in xp sp2.
Ctwizzy
So no need to install it then?
dman
you dont need to install sp5. vb apps work fine with dll's installed with xp. only if you feel the need to be 100% up to date install sp6. In truth, it is likely to cause more problems than it solves (don't know exactly what it fixes, but a good rule with dll's is if it aint broke...google "dll hell") this is complete list of vb runtime filesAsycfilt.dll Comcat.dll Msvbvm60.dll Oleaut32.dll Olepro32.dll Stdole2.tlb
