[Save As ...] Problem to a network drive

Hi,

I can't use [save As ...] in MS Office to a network drive. However, I can open it in that network drive and save it. I can also [save As ...] to desktop, then drag & drop to that network drive. Is that strange?

The error said either the directory is not accessible or it is password protected.

My pc is running XP Pro with Firewall disabled. The remote pc is running Win ME with a directory, said temp, shared with password protected. (Remark: I think it's not related with password protected or not. Because it's not worked even the directory has no password protected.)

Can anybody help me?

Moreover, I tried to map another network drive in a pc running XP Pro. I can [save As ...] the doc if the directory has no password protected. But I can't even access it if it has password protected.

Does the remote network havea firewall stopping it. And the password protection could do it. Or the file protection. It maybe the other computer because of running windows ME. But to me that wouldnt be the cause.

Or, its probably you can connect to the network drive through My Computer and clicking on the network drive. But i dont believe MS Office can directly connect to the network drive to place it in there.
