Monitor turns off and computer freezes

I am running XP Pro SP2. When working in Video Toaster, the monitor will suddenly turn off and the computer will freeze. Is it possible that there is a problem with the video card driver? It is not set to go on screen saver or turn off at all. If I keep the mouse moving its fine. The video card is the Gigabyte GA-NX66128D. I haven't updated the card's BIOS, it still says engineering release. Should I update the BIOS and drivers in windows?

yes i wold try updating everything you possibly cant. Or there could be a program the video card doesnt like or doesnt support and it will shut off! Thats what happen to my old one!

If not it might be a bad video card all together!
