search the registry for any listing for i386 and if there is a drive letter in front of that, change it to your DVD drive, what you can do as well is copy the entire i386 folder from your windows XP cd onto your hard drive and get it to point to that location, that way you can put the cd away until you need to reinstall windows or something.

In this hive:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

Set:

SourcePath = X:\

and

ServicePackSourcePath = X:\

Where 'X' is the drive letter of your CD/DVD drive that you want to use.

EDIT: Added this to help you:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup]
"SourcePath"="X:\\"
"ServicePackSourcePath"="X:\\"
