USB Drives stopped responding

Hi,

I have a user with a Medion Laptop, running WinXP Home. The laptop has 4 USB sockets. The devices always used to work fine, but about two weeks ago they stopped, now nothing I connect to any of the ports seems to work.

I have checked everything I can think of. Disabled the USB in Device Manager and re-enabled. Deleted and let the machine auto re-detect.

Nothing seems to work, I have run Windows Update and updated to SP2 but that still hasn't resolved the problem.

Can anyone suggest anything?

what MB do you have? I had problems with USB and with an ASUS P4C-800 when I installed the Intel accelerator thing.
