MSNwar Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 Hollywood Tries to Corner KazaaA federal court in Los Angeles will consider in the forthcoming days, whether entertainment companies may perform legal actions against the distributors of Kazaa peer to peer software. Kazaa is a Dutch software company. However distributor company Sharman Networks, is registered at Vanuatu, an island-state in South Pacific Ocean. The software is also distributed by servers outside U.S. so the argument that may be used, is that U.S. courts have no jurisdiction. Where is Vanuatu? Rick Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 Wow! I didn't know that Kazaa was so hard to get to! I love it! Hollywood may own America but not the world! Rick
MSNwar Posted November 24, 2002 Author Posted November 24, 2002 Yea. It makes me think that Microsoft could do the sme thing. Move their interests outside the U.S. and avoid all the court cases! Remember that thingy about Bill buying an island and creating his own nation, hmm.
