Connecting To A Domain

Sorry guys for the million questions - i have a mate whos about 200 miles away from me after some thought i wondered how i could get him to connect his machine to my domain as currently hes not part of my network? Is this possible if so how or if you could provide me with links to read upon.

If your domain is available on the Internet (not reccommended) he could use you DNS server to join his workstation to the domain as he was on your network ...
