Sysprep Image In Vmware

Recommended Posts

I have done a winxp_sp1 image with sysprep and have made an image through Ghost 8. I made an image of the VMware Partition and then ghosted this image onto another PC and rebooted the system only to find that the PC comes up blank for winxp installation no active what so every .

Could it be that there is too much of a difference between VMare and a normal Intel system for this too work?

Also am I surpose to fill the I386 dir with window setup files?

VMware uses the AMD PCNET chipset for most of its devices, you could try integrating those drivers, available on the web, into your build. I have tried it and it works fine for me.

The Device Drivers forum talks to this issue in a couple of places.
