Just ran in to this in one of my reallllllyyyyy old download folders that I had not sorted through yet. I think it works in a way similair to the application prefecth technology in windows xp but it appears to work for all versions of win 9x, windows 2000 and even NT 4.x. I have never gotten to testing it, and developement of it seems to have come to a stop.. However, the site it still up where you can dowload it.. So, without any further blabbing... Dont ask me how it works.. As I said.. I think I have never tested it even.. Maybe way back when I did.. Not sure.. Site and readme that comes with it tells all from what I can see. I dont see it being harmful in any manner and it should/could do some good.

Anyway.. tested it a little on a diff machine... (I dont use 9x of any sort on my manin machine)... Sorta usefull.. Not automatic, you have to manually control it... But, it can speed up some apps.

this may not be prefech used by xp but it's better than nothing.

Note: As the documentation sugest.. Be careful. You can damage exe's and dll's with this.. I did it once during my testing.. To be safe.. Just back up the files you try it on by copying it.. I wouldnt call it damage, but it actually slowed down a few apps I tried it on.. I just copied the original files back and the speed was regained.

I personaly dont use it, but I tested it on Outlook Express in WIN 98 SE.. It didnt break it completely. But it did make it a tad bit slower.. Just used the IE6 installer to reinstall the files and it was back up to speed again.

alot of stuff that is for xp can't easily be backported to win9x and tend to not work right.
