lehtchod
I just installed IIS (using Add Windows Components in Control Panel). It seemed to install okay. In the Microsoft Management Console, it shows as having been started, with the expected home directory of inetpub/wwwroot. I can stop and start IIS from the console, and bring up the help file at http://localhost/iishelp/iis/misc/default.asp.I put an ASP file in the inetpub/wwwroot directory and tried to access it from Internet Explorer but it wasn't found. I have tried http://localhost/squareroot.asp and http://aoffice1/squareroot.asp (where "AOFFICE1" is my computer name). In both cases, I get the "Page cannot be displayed" message.Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. AndyP.S. I've attached the ASP file I'm using, in case that's helpful.squareroot.asp
jimwillsher
Have you chosen to enable scripts? Without this ticked it won't run any code. The attachment you posted appears to contain valid ASP code. Also, within IE, untick the option sayng "how friendly HTTP error messages", then you should see a better error message.HTH,Jim
