you might have some bad drivers.

try rebooting in Safe Mode (hold the F8 key during boot) uninstall your Video Card Drivers, reboot into Normal mode and install the proper drivers.

Did you Flash your Video Card BIOS?

Hey everyone !

I using Windows XP . After you click Start, click Shut Down, and then click either Restart or Shut down in the Shut Down Windows dialog box, the computer may begin to shut down but then stop responding (hang). When this occurs, the computer stops at a blank screen. The mouse pointer is displayed

I test Advanced Power Management (APM) in Basic Input/Output System (BIOS).

In Bios : Award v6.00 PG

ACPI Supend Type S3 (STR)

Power Led in S1 Type Blinking

Soft Off by PWR-BTTM Instant-Off

PME Event Wake Up Enabled

Modem Ring On Enabled

Resume by Alarm Disabled

Power On by Mouse : Disabled

Power On by Keyboard Disabled

Alarm Function Sott-Off

I trying to shutdown or reset but my compuer will be hang . I have to press button shutdown in case .

Reinstall Windows XP still not OK . When error hang and i tried to get Device Manager choose System Devices option , remove ACPI fixed future button option but it’s still appear this error . Because I think if error shutdown when i will test driver VGA , Bios , file .DLL . I don’t know fix this error .

hmm, ok some small info needed..

Did the system work ok before you updated the graphics card and "set in" the bios?

What you can do are the following:

1. reload the bios fail safe defaults, to see if it helps at all

2. try another video card.

3. Try to go back to date before you updated the drivers (system restore)

Just if it bsods when you try to restart then you prob have a software-system conflict..
