Hi,

I have an old Acer Vuego 310S scsi scanner and an Acard AEC-6710d PCI scsi Controller.

The scsi card uses the driver acard v1.41 and the scanner uses the Mirascan 3.42s driver which is compatible with XP.

When i open photoshop 8 to loads the Twain driver but it says it cant find the scanner.

I think it has to do with the SCSI card as i get this error message:

_ _ _ __ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ _ _ _ _

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code39)

You need to restart your computer before the changes you made to this device will take effect.

Any tips?

I selected a different driver in XP and now i get the message:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

What could the problem be?

Error 39 - Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file that is corrupt; a file I/O problem, or a driver that references an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded.

Normally you fin this with cd drives, but occasionally on other devices.

Error 10 - Device failed to start. Normally a device driver problem.

The same thing happened to me. I found a different driver at http://www.driverguide.com/

that is working just fine now. Also make sure your scanner is turned off when u install the driver.
