Associate File-types With Programs

I create this registr, but dont work :/

here is sample:

this reg create reference for program in system

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\mplayerc.exe]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\mplayerc.exe\shell]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\mplayerc.exe\shell\open]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\mplayerc.exe\shell\open\command]

...and this associate MPG files with program (but dont work)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.mpg\OpenWithList]

i hate to say it but that doesnt really constitute that much of an effort. while it's not the easiest thing to find file associatons are a common issue to many of us and there are threads on it. I am not a very good searcher and i was able to find it
