dimegrind
I have a small home network running both win2k and XP. I am mainly on the 2k machine, and the other day I tried to get on to my XP via the network by using \\computername\c$ and was unable to get to the hdd. I got a "network name can not be found." Does Xp not allow you to do that?
Wasim
hi dimegrind. Have you got any firewalls running, if so allow the firewalls to access each computer: do this for both pc's.What i have noticed is that when i have my sp2 firewall on, the 98se machine cant access the xp machine. penguindriver
Check and see if "Simple File Sharing" is turned OFF. If this turned on, you will not be able to get to the administrative share on the "C" drive in XP from another XP or 2K box.
