jonas_sth Posted February 22, 2005 Share Posted February 22, 2005 HiI have setup 2003 standard server with Active directory but when I logon with user on \\Server\Groups$ and privet \\Server\users$\username user don’t get any rightist to create anything. If I create folder under group and give all rights it still don’t let user any rights to change even if put user inside group with rights on the folderWhat have I done wrong? valter Posted February 23, 2005 Share Posted February 23, 2005 When you create folder, shared in this case, beside you share it for user you must configure security for the same folder. I always give share rights as followsAdministrators - Full ControlUser or Group - Changeand securityAdministrators - Full ControlUser ot Group - Special (this special is actually modify, but Delete right is turned off and Delete subfolder and files is turned on)I can see that you have made hidden shares for Groups and Uses ($) you can safely remove those shares and share only folders you need, because you can always connect to your server using admin share c$ ... jonas_sth Posted February 27, 2005 Author Share Posted February 27, 2005 I have shared one map on my D drive called Groupsand then added two maps called IT Group and Sales GroupI only like that users should be possible to open groups but no have write rights before they go under next map called IT Group and Sales Group,So how should I put rights on my first map Groups?
