Hi

I have setup 2003 standard server with Active directory but when I logon with user on \\Server\Groups$ and privet \\Server\users$\username user don’t get any rightist to create anything. If I create folder under group and give all rights it still don’t let user any rights to change even if put user inside group with rights on the folder

What have I done wrong? Thanks for all help, regards Jonas

When you create folder, shared in this case, beside you share it for user you must configure security for the same folder. I always give share rights as follows

Administrators - Full Control

User or Group - Change

and security

Administrators - Full Control

User ot Group - Special (this special is actually modify, but Delete right is turned off and Delete subfolder and files is turned on)

I can see that you have made hidden shares for Groups and Uses ($) you can safely remove those shares and share only folders you need, because you can always connect to your server using admin share c$ ...

I have shared one map on my D drive called Groups

and then added two maps called

IT Group and Sales Group

I only like that users should be possible to open groups but no have write rights before they go under next map called IT Group and Sales Group,

So how should I put rights on my first map Groups?
