ZachDoty
Hello, I have a friend and for some reason his website gives a 403 if you try to access any file or directory other than the main page, I opened the FTP client (smart ftp) and noticed that "public_html" was set not to allow read access to the public, I changed it to 755 and clicked "OK" to apply the settings, then reopened the chmod properties and it had automaticlly changed itself back to how it was.Does anyone here have any ideas???? XPerties
403 is a forbidden error and doesn't always mean it's a permission error. For example if you uploaded perl files in binary mode, that causes 403 errors.Secondly as an administrator, I highly suggest you NOT mess with the public_html folder. You should send in a support request to your host to see if they have an issue related to 403 error. From my past experiences there can be a file protection issue related to the server that needs to be fixed.
