Sidewinder Precision & Bf 1942

hi there

i just installed my ms sidewinder precision 2 controller

i opened the game assigned the buttons.

loaded a map to play and my keyboard and joystick are not working

some buttons on the keyboard, like views, radio messages, enter exit are working but the others like move forward fire etc are not working.

things i did after that:

1. set the default values for the controls, didn't work

2. unplugged the joystick, didn't work

3. uninstalled the game, then reinstalled without the joystick, didn't work.

4. went into registry, manually removed stuff about my joystick, re-entered the game, didn't work

5. ran registry first aid to check for invalid entries just in case, didn't work...

i'm out of solutions..

i need desprite help!! whats going on?

tried it with battlefield vietnam

it works

still no response from battlefield 1942, and my keyboard in the game still doesn't work (stuff like fire, move, etc)

Did you install any software/drivers for it? What OS you on? Are there any 'unknown' devices in Device Manager?

Actually, if it's partly working sounds more like a hardware fault. My Sidewinder also died a slow horrible death...do you feel comforted

hahah no

i've solved it,

for some reason the game copied my control files to my documents\ea\bf194\etcetc folder

and i believe it tried to read from there and from the main folder and therefore got confused.

so i've deleted the bogus one, and now everythings working
