yonchrr Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 I deleted the partition from HD and made new one then I reinstalled WinXP from CD onto the new partition. During installation it says "Setup cannot copy file licwmi.dll" It then gives me option to retry or cancel etc. If i cancel, more files cannot be copied from D:/i386. Do i skip all the files? What is wrong with my installation of winXP? I have the CD from the company that made my PC. Is something wrong with my CD?
bart of borg Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Either something is wrong with the CD, it is dirty or there is something wrong with you CD-ROM......try using a different optical drive if you have one.....
splendid Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Sounds like RAM problem.Replace the RAM (if you have only one), or take out one at a time to find the culprit (if you have more than one).
yonchrr Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 hmmm Ill try that but can I just install WinXP with those missing files and update it from the Microsoft website? Maybe they will replace my missing files?
Marthax Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 is your computer overclocked? i had a familiar problem when i overclocked my computer and then when i restored bios defaults it worked normally. regards,Marthax
