1\ I updated Windows

2\ After The reboot I Than Went to

%Windir%\System32\

I than copy from %Windir%\System32\shell32.dll

To %systemdrive%\Shell\

3\ I than Open Resource Hacker Hack The Shell32

4\ Used Replacer.cmd This Will Replace The Shell32.dll

Works Well. Replacer Rar

This Link has Explorer.exe Hacked Shell32.dll Latest Version

Hacked Uxtheme.dll, Resource Hacker.

What It Will Do Is Make This Directory

%systemdrive%\Shell\CustomShell

Than It Will Open Resource Hacker, In Resource Hacker File menu

The # Files Are Listed Now You can Change Them, To Suit Your Needs.

I also use a modified shell32.dll

I integrated the hotfixes as mention earlier in this thread.

The hotfix deletes the existing shell32.dl_ and places the new shell32.dll

directly into \i386 without compressing it.

Do your mods to this new shell32.dll file and place it back into the i386 folder.

Also found in \i386 is the file svcpack.in_

expand and edit it by removing "KB890047.exe /q /n /z" from the section [setupHotfixesToRun]

Leave the other entries there.

recompress it with the command "makecab svcpack.inf"

repalce the existing svcpack.in_ with the new one just created.

Remove KB890047.exe from the i386\svcpack folder

This procedure installs the hotfix info required by windows update

and allows the use of the newly hotfixed and modified shell32.dll unattendly.

BEGIN EDIT

the hotfix contains 3 other files that are not hotfixed.

fldrclnr.dll - v6.0.2800.1579

sxs.dll - v5.1.2600.1579

xpsp2res.dll - v5.1.2600.1612

these files are older than SP2 files which have version - v5.1.2600.2180

except for fldrclnr.dll in SP2 its v6.0.2900.2180

END EDIT

We must study this carefully... simon is also trying to find what to do.

Method 1

Install The Update On A Live Windows Like I Did.

Build A Dir Where You Can Put The Files

Hack the Files You Want

Makecab All Your Hacked Files is all

Than delete XPCD\i386\all your hacked fills.Dl_ Or HackedFiles.ex_

Than Move Your Hacked Hackedfiles_ To XPCD\i386\

Burn To CD

Method 2

I Havnt Done This But It Should Work

If You Wanted To Do it Another Way

This Is A SFX File

And Extract To %systemdrive%\Replacer

Than It Runs This Cmd Replacer.cmd

Replacer

Follow The Instruction

Save This As BrowMyComputer.cmd

And Add To The Cmdlines.txt

Purpose Of The Cmd

The Replacer Cmd Allow For The File To be Drag And Drop

So All You Have To do Is drop the File On The Cmd Window

How The Replacer Works

1\ The first cmd Window Ask If Where the location

of the Windows file Is you want to replace. That would be

%Windir%\system32\shell32.dll

2\ It than ask you for the location of the modified file

3\ It Goes Threw It Script Than Say Reboot is needed

This does not force a reboot so running it at the

Cmdlines.txt point is good because there is a reboot left.

4\ When you reboot and have gone threw the rest of your

Ua the mod file will be in place by then.

echo off && CLS && Mode 45,3 && color 9f && start IEXPLORE.EXE %systemdrive%

[COMMANDS]
Replacer.exe
BrowMyComputer.cmd

This way you are using only the newest Shell32.dll
