network login share c$

pardon me for my ignorance!?? just a quick question?

i'm using windows 2000 pro client OS

when i try to connect to the default share of windows XP pro

usually i go to run i type \\ip\c$ then it will ask for the user name and password

then when i type the user and pass still won't let me in the c$ how do i resolve this

please any idea really need your expertise...

If you´re on a workgroup you should login with username : ComputernameXP\Username.

Also if you use the internal Firewall in XP you should activate File and Printersharing.

On the WinXP PC disable simple file sharing.

Windows Explorer -- Tools -- folder options -- view -- clear the "use simple file sharing" box...
