I would use Trillian, but can u:

Voice Chat ?

Seperate Buddys by client, ex: AIM/MSN ?

Send Files ?

No voice chat that i know of..but you deffinatly can seperate buddies by clients and send files has nothing to do with trillian...your port setting on your router are causing those problems

if i wanted to install trillian, do i have install any specific version if I am running xp pro???

i went on their site and it mentioned something about .net architecture required or is that only with the pro version???

As far as I know you don't need .NET to use Trillian / Trillian PRO. Just download, install and enjoy!
