regarding installing xp on a removable harddrive

I am taking a Windows certification course and a novell certification course in school and we use removable harddrives for the installations. My question is..so i dont have to waste my time on the initial copy of the setup files in text-mode, can I start that portion of the installation at home and shutdown after text-mode finishes and then bring my harddrive into class and resume the installation?? or will the 2 different hardware setups ruin this. I dont plan on using the removable harddrive at home...I just want to get ahead by getting setup ready for class. Is this possible?

I think you can, u should continue setup without any problems...

I agree, hardware detection doesn't happen until the gui part of setup.
