TiXer Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem:On one of the computers where I work, add/remove programs stopped working when the win update KB889293 was installed.. We can doubleclick, rightclick and choose Open or click the icon and press Enter without anything happening.. Do any of you have experience with this?Btw, this has happend on two computers running win 2000 pro, but never on XP..
N1K Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Try to uninstall this patch from your system folder. Ther should be hidden subfolder with the name of the patch..
TiXer Posted January 20, 2005 Author Posted January 20, 2005 We have found another patch which contains the same fix and a few more that doesn't cause this problem.. Was just wondering if anyone else had seen something like this.. EDIT: Now another update has done the same thing.. This time it's KB88779.. We're guessing it's the computer and not the update itself.. Oh well..
