cannot use word

Hi,

i have office 2003 and for some reason when i open a new document and try to type i get a mesage in the bottom saying "this modification is not allowed becasue the document is locked" How do i get rid of this? I also opened an existing document and tried modifying it but the same thing happens

Try to remove NORMAL.DOT.

M$ WORD will make a new one when you start the program again.

If that doesn´t help, deinstall the program and reinstall it again.

That´s all I can think of.

i did uninstall office and the first file i opened under word it worked fine. but then when i closed and opened the document again the same problem happens. i also noticed this problem with excel and powerpoint.

I would say reinstall the whole M$ Works group.
