ripken204
can i make it so that when u boot from the cd that the "Press any key to boot from CD" message does not come up by editing the "bootfix.bin" file or in some other way?
Cartoonite
I believe so, since there was another user posting what seemed to be a problem directly related to that message not appearing. Since this message only appears if there is a bootable OS installed on a hdd that is listed after the CD-ROM where the CD is booting from in the boot sequence, I'm curious as to why exactly you want to remove it. Incroyable HULK
All you have to do is to delete (or rename) BOOTFIX.BIN located in your i386 directory...BUT this is only recommended if you have a MultiBoot project. Otherwise, every times the computer is restarting, the Installation process will restart at the beginning!!!
jamesas
hey sorry to hijack this post but i editied it to say dvd instead of cd and added some extra text but it wouldnt boot anymore? why is that
prathapml
You need to edit the bootfix.bin text there with EXACTLY the same number of characters. That is, over-write the old chars and not delete it and type.

ripken204
every times the computer is restarting, the Installation process will restart at the beginning!!!wouldnt this only happen if your computers bios is set to boot the cd before the hard drive? Incroyable HULK
Yes, but you'll have to wait to the first reboot to change that the boot sequence in the BIOS...ORIf you don't have anything on the Hard Drive, you could put the Hard Drive First and CD-ROM as second so the first time it would boot on the CD-ROM and after the first reboot of the installation it would go on the hard drive...OR In modern BIOS, you can hit a key during the post (like F11 on MSI) and it will bring a small menu letting you choose from wich device you want to boot. The fun thing is that this is only temporary, nothing is changed in the BIOS so the next time you boot, it will use the BIOS setting unless you hit F11 again... Incroyable HULK
Yes, you have to remove BOOTFIX.BIN if you don't want to have to press a key
