FireWire Network config

hi guys, I have a laptop and a computer, both have a wireless network card and firewire. the wireless connects directly to the internet through a wireless router but sometimes i would like to copy files faster through FireWire.

Everytime I enable firewire in both the computers and give them an IP manually, internet stops working for both. Same if i enable DHCP or leave on get IP automatically.

Anyone help me with the configuration or lead me to a tutorial?

it could be routing issue. postin gthe result of ipconfig here may help.
