D3H6G9 Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I installed win server 2003 trial version on vmware for educational purpose. There is only 1 activation key.If I create a new virtual machine with exact same setting will I still be able to activate it?
lvlolvlo Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 why would you create a new VM...just copy the VM and paste it.....also you should be able to activate it 2times worst case senario just order another copy of the trial..
Ge0ph Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 What lvlolvlo said.I install a VM and then copy it to a new location and then run the copy at the new location. That why when I mess up a VM I just copy a from the original and start over as many times as needed.
prathapml Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 If I create a new virtual machine with exact same setting will I still be able to activate it?Yes.Also, if you have same virtual config, then why do you want to activate it again - just copy over the activation-done file (wpa.dbl) from old VM to new one - it will be in C:\windows\system32
