azdigerati Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Hello to all and thanks for your help in advance. My network configuration is as follows: Windows 2000 domin controller, Windows 2003 file server, and several clients. My problem is with the 2003 server in which clients are being denied shared resources. Exapmple:When User1 logs in to Machine1 2003 shares work ok. But if User1 logs onto Machine2 at the same time they are still logged onto Machine1 the 2003 shares do not work. Also I have noticed users are being denied access to the shares when say more than 5 users are accessing the 2003 shares. But if they wait till it drops under and log off and back onto the domain they can then again gain access to the 2003 shares. The 2000 domain controller has a logon script maping drives for the users. The mapped drives included local drives and the 2003 shares. Users can access the 2000 shares with no problem. It is only on the 2003 shares that there is a problem with access. The 2003 shares are set up for full control to the domain users group. And all accounts on the domain are members of the domain users group. So this is stumping me as to what the problem could be. Another thing I should probably mention is that I have 5 CALs on the 2003 server and 25 CALs on the 2000 domain controller. I don't know if this could be the problem in that the CALs on the 2003 are limiting the number of connections. Both servers are configured as Per Server licnese. I did try one thing with that CALs on the 2003 and that was to up the number to 25 CALs but that did nto work. So I doubt that can be my problem now unless I am missing something.Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your time. Can you plese list your Share as well as NTFS permissions on your shares? Anyway, the number of CALs for w2k3 will determine how many clients can actually access the share. CALs for w2k dones't work with w2k3.
