oemSkipWelcome=1 doesn't work

Recommended Posts

Ok, I read all the guides here, but I'm having a problem. I slipstreamed SP2 into my WinXP Pro. Most of the installation is automated, like inputting the key, region, and other stuff. But it keeps stopping at the Welcome screen, and makes me click "Next" a bunch of time while that music plays in the background.

I fixed my winnt.sif file to include AutomaticUpdates=yes in the [unattended] portion, and I also included the firewall section as well, mentioned at this website. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

Brian

UnattendSwitch=YES

Should be added to GUIUnattend i think, or Unattend one of them.

OEMSkipWelcome is working, it's just doing something other then what YOU thing it's doing. (It's skipping the INITIAL welcome screen during SETUP, you're past there)

Still a little confused here. :blushing:

Are you talking about the screen where you have to input a user name for one or more users? (I believe the screen has a set of boxes to input names for up to 5 or 6 users, with the first one being labeled "Your Name.")

[Unattended]
   UnattendMode=FullUnattend
   OemSkipEula=yes
   OemPreinstall=Yes
   TargetPath=\WINDOWS
   DisableDynamicUpdates=Yes
   Repartition=NO
   UnattendSwitch=No
   WaitForReboot=No
   Hibernation=No
   AutoActivate=Yes
   UnattendSwitch=Yes

You have both YES and NO for UnattendSwitch, pick one. Remove the other. (hint, you want the YES)
