cxxxkies Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Hi, Im trying to dig-up an old info from the forum regarding on how to change the partition size of Win NT4 but my eyes already .. My hardisk is 40GB and I want the NT4 to use the whole space.. current partition is 2GB NTFS SP6aIs there a command or free utility to resize the partition?
tguy Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 I don't believe there are any command line or free utilities to do what you want to do but if you can afford it, you can try Partition Magic 8 or Acronis Disk Director 9.As for resizing the partition to the full 40 Gb. see this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224526/EN-US/
cxxxkies Posted January 12, 2005 Author Posted January 12, 2005 I found this link, http://www.nu2.nu/fixnt4/index.php and im testing it now!
staples Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 As for support (even though it ended in 2004) do not go past 8gb for the boot partition.... the file system has issues with ntfs and sometime pukes (with strange and random errors). any size for the remaining partitions is fine. I have had issues before.
