NT4 Change partition size

Featured Replies

Hi, Im trying to dig-up an old info from the forum regarding on how to change the partition size of Win NT4 but my eyes already  ..

My hardisk is 40GB and I want the NT4 to use the whole space.. :blushing:

current partition is 2GB NTFS SP6a

Is there a command or free utility :D to resize the partition?

I don't believe there are any command line or free utilities to do what you want to do but if you can afford it, you can try Partition Magic 8 or Acronis Disk Director 9.

As for resizing the partition to the full 40 Gb. see this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224526/EN-US/

As for support (even though it ended in 2004) do not go past 8gb for the boot partition.... the file system has issues with ntfs and sometime pukes (with strange and random errors). any size for the remaining partitions is fine. I have had issues before.
