1heavyd Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I purchased a Palm One pda but I was unaware that the programming would not accept the use of Win98. When I tried to install Office 2003 and Outlook a message appeared that said, " The specified program requires a newer version of Windows. Does anyone have some possible solutions for my dilemma?
prathapml Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Could you please make your question clearer?Win98 on Palm1 PDA?Office2003 on Palm OS?Office 2003 and Outlook on Win 98?
1heavyd Posted January 9, 2005 Author Posted January 9, 2005 Prathapml, I have Win98 on my Desktop Pc. The manual for the palm one said that i could download Outlook and Office from my desktop into the pda to expand its capabilities. I did not have Office or Outlook installed on my desktop. so I purchased Office 2003 to install on my desktop. When I inserted the Office program disk into my CD Rom a message appeared that said "The specified program requires a newer version of Windows. So then I purchased Windows Me which is a neewer version of Windows. When I inserted the Office 2003 program again I got the same message for a newer version of Windows. I have spent far too much money already for programming that isn't compatible with each other. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
prathapml Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 office2k3 will only install on desktop PCs - Win2kSP3 or XP or higher. The PDA will need a special version of Office, which you can "Sync" into it.
