I mean like ultimate boot cd for unattended installations...

Small, fast, universal.

2Supafly: I will have a look if mine can connect to IP address - but it is not problem of boot medium, it is problem of TCP/IP connection (NetBios)

2Supafly: Ah, not forget... Forget about connecting to server by IP address - it cant be done, because U must provide netbios name :( Sorry, I think U wont find dos medium capable of this...

Why U cant connect by using normal pc name?

Ive got a small network.

I have to map a shared folder from CHTHL-QUOTA to the Laptop so

i can start Ghost. In CHTHL-QUOTA i configured a DHCP server.

my only problem is, that i cant ping CHTHL-QUOTA with name, only with

IP (192.167.1.1).

in an other network (company network) i can map the shared folder from a server called CHTHL-PROD-11 :)

but im working on it. i think i found the failure... hang on a sec

ah okay. Done!

I now have installed de NETBIOS/NETBEUI/IPX Protocol on the server.

Then i got an "Access denied" in DOS on the laptop. But at last i could

map the shared folder with NET USE G: \\CHTHL-QUOTA\LTXP !

So now i looked at the local policies. I changed the values of

some MICROSOFT NETWORK CLIENT and DOMAIN MEMBER policies.

Looked at the User And group rights too.

Now it works!

Heh, that name is strange... Looks like MS changed something since I was studying protocol :)

BTW if U R in domain, U shouldnt have problems with access rights -

NET LOGON user password /DOMAIN:domain /YES /SAVEPW:NO
