Adidas0494 Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 My friend is scared of posting this here so im doing it for him...if you have a illegal copy of windows XP pro and install SP2 will microsoft shutdown your windows or anything like it?
Ge0ph Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Not only that, there will be a team of lawyers at your door within a day. They will confiscate all of your computer equipment and you will likely spend the night in jail. And that’s just for starters. /sarcasm
Adidas0494 Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 Well he wants to know if your CD key is checked and such when you download/install it...any really know by like experience?
jpatto Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I know many who are asked to re-activate Windows and some who are completely locked out and cant get back into Windows (ive been told this is checked against your product key) if you call Microsoft they wont help you either, no matter what excuse you give them.....at this point is when Microsoft call their lawyers and "They will confiscate all of your computer equipment and you will likely spend the night in jail. And that’s just for starters" (joke)
Ge0ph Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 In reality, you are asking us to help him use an ileagle copy of Windows. That is something that is just not done here. However, if you read our posts right, you have your answeer.
Spyder2k Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 If microsoft recognises your copy of XP as illegal, you can't install SP2
Adidas0494 Posted January 8, 2005 Author Posted January 8, 2005 Alright thanks...i wasnt asking for a way around it i was just asking what happens
