:whistle: Hey ,

I've got a little problem .

I've made some new logical partitions on my external HDD.

The new partitions are named but do not have a drive letter.This to avoid problems when i connect my HDD to another pc.

In the disk managment all the partitions are recogniced and active.

When i go to the explorer only the partitions with drive letter are available, those without drive letter are not been listed.

Can somebody help me ??? :}

As far as I know you must allocate a drive letter to access partions. When using your external drive on another machine it should automatically use the next available drive letters to recongnise the different partions. Otherwise asign drives letters like R: or S:! The chances of another pc having so many IDE drives to reach the letters R or S in very small.

Let me know if I was of any help.....

@dewitn

So now what do you really mean to say?

You have yourself taken away drive-letter assigments, and now you can't access it. Give it back drive-letters from disk-management and it will be proper again. :blink:

If you don't want drive letters, mount the drives in empty NTFS folders.

And remember, lack of drive-letters just for the sake of compatibility when connecting the HDD to some other PC is a blunder. When you connect it to some other PC, windows will automatically assign drive-letters.

EDIT:

Oh, saw slayer69's post just now. Yes, slayer69's right.
