The wallpaper looks really werid when I save them in 256 colors. Like I said before I need the for my Setup bootscreen. Can you tell me if I can use regular wallpapers meaning JPG, GIF and others.

Or what else can I do?

Take any JPG, GIF, PNG or whatever format image, and use IrfanView to convert it to 640x480, 256 color. Iview can keep the color to an extent - saving with MS Paint makes the color look washed out.
