Slow internet, with WGR614v4 router

Featured Replies

Ok I have a net gear WGR614v4 router and it makes my internet connection very slow when just surfing the net or checking email but online gamming is just fine. I have updated to the latest firmware. Both computers connected to the router get slow internet one is wireless the other is connected by cable. If I connect either computer directly to the modem the internet is very fast. What could be the problem? Both computers are running XP pro and are maintain daily i.e. clear temp files and cookies. I have reset the router and modem many times still no change. BTW I have shaw extrem high speed internet.

sounds like MTU issue. quoted from www.chicagotech.net.
