unable to uninstall programs

Hi..

can someone help me with uninstalling a program? I've tried using the "Add or Remove Programs" thing but it just freezes when I click on "Change/Remove", (Windows XP)

goto the programs directory

example: c:\program files\winrar should be an uninstall.exe or something similar where u can launch the file

if that doesnt work, u can remove it manually, by deleteing all files/folders/regkeys for that program

Try to scan your computer for viruses, adware, spyware, 'cause Windows shouldn't freeze at the moment you enter add/remove programs.

This problem indicates that you can't uninstall any of the programs in your computer by the means add/remove..
